Have orders print off automatically as they're required in Square POS


This article will guide you to enable automatic printing for Sociavore online ordering in Square on your iOS device

Step 1: Create Your Printer Station (if one does not exist already)

Open up the Square POS application and carry out the following steps:

a) Select "Settings."

b) Select "Printers"

c) Select "Create Printer Station," as seen below:

Step 2: Enable Your Printer To Print Online Order Tickets

Once you've created your printer station (or once you've selected the printer you want to connect to your online ordering receipts), you'll see a section called 'Use this printer for".

Select on the "Online order tickets" option, as shown below:

Now, toggle on 'Use this printer for online order tickets' as shown below:

Step 3: Turn On "Automatically Print New Orders"

While remaining on the 'Online order tickets' page in the Square POS application, toggle on "Automatically Print New Orders," as seen below:

Step 4: Select Specific Categories To Include on Order Tickets (optional)

By default, all categories will print on the order ticket. You can leave it as-is or choose specific categories to print to this printer.

To do this, scroll down and select "Categories to print."

Toggle off all Square item categories whose menu items you do not want to print to this printer. Make sure that "Uncategorized Items" remains toggled on as items in Sociavore that are not in Square's catalog will be uncategorized.

Step 5 - Turn On Alerts on Your Square POS

Step 6: Keep the Tablet Awake To Be Notified of New Orders

This example is on iPad.

  1. Go to your tablet's home screen
  2. Select "Settings"
  3. Select "Displays & Brightness"
  4. Select "Auto-Lock"
  5. Set to "Never"
