How to Create QR codes for Your Restaurant Menus

Published

With summer patios in full swing, and dining rooms beginning to re-open at limited capacities, restaurants have been forced to come up with new ways to serve their guests safely and efficiently.

A fully contactless dining experience has been a learning curve for many, especially for those working in the hospitality industry, and it’s something we all will have to get used to for a while.

Restaurants are using their website menus to eliminate physical menus and asking their guests to open the websites on their phones to browse and order. It’s not only encouraging a contactless experience but it’s also a more sustainable approach to menus.

QR Codes

What’s the quickest way to pull up those menus? QR codes! Guests can quickly access a restaurants’ website menu and order directly by scanning the QR code using their built-in camera apps on their iPhone or Android smartphones. No downloading of apps required.

Here’s how to do it.

  1. Open your dining menu up on our website browser.
  2. Copy (CTRL+C) the menu URL from the address bar.
If you’re a Sociavore customer, you can obtain it from their Sociavore Dashboard.
  3. Plug the URL into our free QR code generator.
  4. Download the QR code and print physical copies which can be placed on to a poster or anywhere on the table.
  5. Once scanned, the menu pops right away.

Do you want guests to place an order directly from your online menu?

Last month, we launched Tableside Dining, a system that has helped restaurants re-open their patios, allowing guests to order food + drinks securely, all without touching a menu, tapping a machine, signing a receipt, or waiting in line. Learn more in our latest blog post.
